"It can take less than a minute to check in with a student, but it can change the course of their entire day" - Greg Sederberg
My challenge for you this week, is to find students and have a conversation with them. Maybe this is in the hallway, classroom, lunch room, etc... This is a great way for us to model the "how to talk to people" skill that we have seen missing in so many of our kids. It doesn't need to be a long, complex, meaningful conversation. Don't get hung up on making it a "perfect" conversation. Like Greg says above, it can take less than a minute to check in with a student. Make it a great week! Here are your STAFF NOTES for this week. March is an enormous month for a lot of reasons...Last month of the school year that doesn't involve state testing, last moth before spring break, the weather typically changes (fingers crossed), last parent teacher conferences, March Madness, and many other reasons! It is a month that seems long when looking at the calendar, but tends to fly by. I hope that you were able to enjoy the beautiful weather and come tomorrow with a renewed energy towards the upcoming month.
Just a quick thought as you pump yourself up for a Monday... "There are students who can't wait to see you tomorrow morning. Greet them with a smile. Not all kids had a great weekend." Here are your STAFF NOTES for this week. |
