"The most important thing is to try to inspire people so that they can be great in whatever they want to do" Kobe Bryant
Well....Here we are on the eve of the new semester. The year is officially half way done. I had some ideas of what I wanted to write today. Things like "a fresh start", "the peak of the school year mountain", etc...Then as I sat watching golf wishing I was enjoying the weather that I was witnessing on TV, breaking news flashed. "Kobe Bryant, 41, dead in helicopter crash". Listening, watching, and learning things about Kobe that I never knew. What speaks to me the most was his passion to be the best, period. He had a vision, he had a mission, and he wasn't going to let anything get in the way. He acted on that vision,, mission, and goals and become one of the greatest. Sooo....what is your vision, mission, goals? When the last time you reflected on you? What are your dreams? What is your why? Don't wait to make a move. I would love to hear what your dreams are, what your goals are, what your why is. How cool would it be to know what each other dream about so that we can all inspire and assist in making each other great in what they want to do. On Wednesday morning, be ready to share one thing about yourself in regards to you dreams or your why. Here are you STAFF NOTES for this week! Let's make it a great "fresh start"! I'm not sure if you are all aware of this, but teaching Middle School is the BEST JOB EVER. It's true. If you don't believe me, click here for the proof! We have a lot to be thankful for. I hope that you all feel the same way. We are in the sweet spot of the year. Our systems are in place, a new semester is on the horizon, and the year is almost half over already. It's time to buckle down, put our heads down and help our students become the best they can be over the next few winter months.
If you skipped over the link that has the proof you have the best job ever, you need to go back and click on the link. :) Here are your STAFF NOTES for this week. The dance last Friday was a huge success. It was the largest turnout that I can remember for the 7/8th grade event. What I was most impressed with, was the number of students who actually got out on the floor and danced. Here is a video clip of some of the dancing. It was good times had by all.
This is the last full week of the 1st semester. It will be important that you touch base with the students in your Trojan Times to help see what they might need to pay extra attention too the next two weeks. Lets stay positive, healthy, and prepare to beat the winter blues! Here are your STAFF NOTES for this week. Well here we are. We've had Christmas Eve, New Year's Eve, and now "Return from Christmas Break" Eve. It will be extremely important for you to spend a considerable amount of time re-establishing your classroom culture. You don't have to preach at the kids for one or two class periods, but please take advantage of teachable moments to help optimize your classroom.
I'm excited that we will get the opportunity to meet tomorrow morning before the students come back. Please plan on being in the library by 7:35 and make sure you have your chromebook with you. Enjoy your evening and we will see you in the morning. Here are your STAFF NOTES for this week. |
